Psychiatric Services

List Psychological Services offers psychiatric care, including medication management, as one part in the overall treatment experience for our clients. Medications are sometimes necessary to help you be the best you. Because we care about your overall emotional health, we believe that therapy is a necessary part of treatment. Therefore, we require all clients who see a psychiatrist to be active in counseling. If you and your therapist are considering medications as part of your treatment, here is what you can expect:

  • Your therapist will refer you to a doctor for an evaluation. If the evaluation shows a need for psychiatric care, you will receive appointments with a doctor in addition to your therapist.
  • The psychiatrist is responsible for your medications. After the initial evaluation, sessions are much shorter and address how you are responding to them medically.
  • Once you are stable on your medications and no longer require counseling, we will transfer you to your family doctor to continue your medical care.

We have found that this policy best meets the needs of the individual client while also better serving the broader community.

Testing

List Psychological offers psychological testing services in addition to our psychiatric evaluations:

  • ADHD assessments
  • Learning disabilities assessments
  • Mental status exams
  • Neuropsychological testing
  • Intelligence testing
  • Personality testing
  • Consultations prior to bariatric surgery

We have found that this policy best meets the needs of the individual client while also better serving the broader community.
